About this show
Stray Cat Comedy Club, Singapore’s only New York-style comedy club, presents Deepak Chandran’s show “How to Be Singaporean”. Deepak moved to Singapore in 2013 and built his comedy career here, leading him to a Netflix Special. He experiments with comedy in many formats, and How to Be Singaporean is a personal journey filled with experiences, comparisons, contrasts and beyond. From “chewing gum is illegal” to how crossing the border can suddenly make you feel “three times richer”, this is storytelling comedy mixed with observations and a touch of audience interaction. This is an intimate show in a small room and tickets are limited. Spend the weekend with Deepak as he talks about the journey of becoming Singaporean — a tribute to the country he now calls home. Please note: The club is on the 3rd floor and there is no lift. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Show starts at 7:30 PM.
